After graduating from the University of Sydney, Andrew completed his PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Richard Payne (USyd) focusing on the total synthesis of antibiotic peptide natural products. Andrew was awarded the prestigious RACI Cornforth Medal in 2018 and also represented Australia at the 2017 Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. In 2019, Andrew moved to Oxford, firstly as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Ben Davis FRS, then an Associate Investigator at the newly established Rosalind Franklin Institute (RFI). From 2019-2024 he was also acted as a lecturer at Pembroke College Oxford, teaching first to third year undergraduate students. Andrew started his independent career at UTS in 2025.
